Let me tell you: hand quilting is sorta hard. Not to long ago I watched Johanna as she hand-quilted a table runner; at the time, I thought (and probably said) that seems so easy! Ha.
But it's fun, which is really what matters. My first stitches aren't that great: no two are the same length, and I can only get 2 or 3 stitches loaded up on my needle at once. Overall though, maybe not so bad for a first attempt?
it gets easier the more you do. in the beginning your stitches are large, but you'll be amazed when you look back at how much smaller your stitches get throughout your first project!
ReplyDeleteIt's true what Karyn says. Plus, it took me a while to hit around until I found the right combo of hoop, needle length, favourite thread, etc... Keep at it! Big stitches or not, folks will marvel at your craftsmanship and patience.
